The Men’s Irish Junior Cup was instituted in 1895. 
Irish Junior Cup Eligibility
It is an open draw tournament for 2nd XIs from the following branch leagues:
Ulster 2nd XI teams competing in Junior 1, 2 & 3
Leinster 2nd XI teams competing in Divisions 3 & 4
Munster 2nds XI teams competing in Premier and Division 1
The final is traditionally played at the National Hockey Stadium in UCD
